Layden Robinson's Havoc Tree is far more twisted than I anything else I've ever read in...my...life. It's a collection of short horrific, (only for adults) deprived stories. I'm talking Seven meets Clockwork Orange meets Eraserhead.
Layden paints a daunting scene with purple prose. There are moments when I thought what was I reading? Only to reach the end and need a drink and a smoke. And I gave up cigarettes in 2013.
There isn't too much else I can say without giving out spoilers. There are 9 stories. (If I remember correctly.) The first story had a part 1 and 2. The grammar takes some getting used to. I recommend reading these around a bonfire with friends. The all capital words can help guide your acting.
